So i was going to post about how overwhelmingly crappy work is right now and how epically lame it all is and, you know, how i hate everyone. But then i saw THIS.
Guys GUYS!. He CAN ACT (as well as look staggeringly handsome). I was worried. All his previous stuff he's played it crazy or random and Edward Cullen is, well.... anyway! A normal film! Where he's (sort of) normal! and it looks AWESOME! I'M SO EXCITED!

When i look at these pictures all thoughts of independance, a future career, they go out the window as my ovaries kick in to overdrive. I want his babies! Now i want them! Now!

Epic crazy mad week at work. I've been covering for Marcus so as well as doing both our jobs this is the week everything decided to kick off and went to hell. I've barely sat down and was oft spotted running back and forth across the car park in a frenzy.
Didnt leave work until 7pm tonight. Lame.
I called at Morrisons on the way home and overheard this conversation at the check out
Check out girl 1: OMG you wont believe what i did last night
Check out girl 2: What?
Check out girl 1: I dropped my phone down the toilet. A £630 phone! But luckily it was insured...
Six hundred and thirty pounds??? For a phone? I bloody well hope it was insured and one would also want it to, oh i dont know, TURN IN TO A CAR at the push of a button for that amount of money. Who spends that much on a phone. Its a phone! Man alive, kids today.
Oh! Friday Night Lights started again. Snuck up on me without realising. I'm currently downloading but given my laptop speed and past experience....i'm expecting to watch it sometime next June.
That is all for now.

Tomorrow, after i get my hair cut, i am going bridesmaid dress shopping with Princess Vic and her court. I don't think i'm exagerating when i say this is going to be the most hideous experience of my life thus far. I am without a doubt going to be the most resistant, resentful and uncomfortable bridesmaid in the world all the while pretending to be happy and gracious. Eww.
Good times.
Until them i am going to pretend it isnt happening and possibly eat the rest of my Jaffa-crack mini rolls.
Oh yeah and Bones started again...
( Bones eps 1 & 2 )
This post did have an actual point and that was to say happy birthday to Amy! I hope you have had a great day.

Today is my 3 year anniversary on LJ. Which means its been 3 years since i wrote my vezzy first craptastic Veronica Mars fanfic. Out of curiosity i've been looking back at my first few posts and man i was not a frequent blogger back then. I posted maybe 6 times in the first three months. I'm still not very consistent but i'm much better.
I remember literally having no idea what to do. No idea how to post to a comm, no idea what any of the acronyms stood for (for the longest time i thought FTW meant fuck the world. Heh). and no idea how to make LJ friends. I think one of my very first friends was
So 434 posts,134 tags and 37 whole friends later (who says i cant make social connections?) here i am.

Before my parents left for warmer climes i set them up a blog on blogspot.com so they could record their day to day activities for us all to read.
My Dad is the blogger of the two, having had his own Bird Watching blog for a few years. My Dad is also hilarious. Some of his posts are genius though generally themed the same; about his birdwatching and walking escapades.
Here are some outtakes from his latest entry about one of his regular walks:
The wetlands are veined with rivers and tidal creeks and I cross three bridges made from branches, planks and miscellaneous bits of wood. Bridge No.1 was a two plank bridge but for most of its length is now only a one plank bridge. It also has handrails with a tendency to crumble in your hand. No.1 is not much fun. Bridge No.2 is a two plank bridge in good condition and one can stand at its middle, eight feet above the mangrove swamp water, safe in the knowledge that the crocodile high jump record stands at only 2.50m - they never mastered the Fosbury Flop.
****
In the clearing is a sizeable Chinese Temple, along with a titchy side Temple, and these are, I would think, usually accessed from the river.
Like all good Temples, this one is equipped with candles, joss sticks and matches, and so I lit the same and prayed to the Chinese Gods for a Hanging Parrot. A previous supplicant had left an offering to the Gods. It was a bottle of local brandy (21RM from Ting & Ting) and proved to be no temptation. Had he/she left a tray of Tsingtao, that would have been a different matter.
For you non Asian Beer drinkiners Tsingtao is a Malaysian beer.
I will have to post some exerts from his entry about getting lost on the side of a mountain. Once i got over the sheer terror at what could have been, i managed to find it fairly entertaining.
He's not allowed to walk off the beaten path anymore.

I was having a chat with one of our Sales Managers Ewan who's last day was today (all my favourites are leaving :-() and i lost the ability to talk AND make sense simultaneously.
Ewan: I was in Italy a couple of weeks ago
Me: Oh! I'm going next year.
Ewan: Oh cool
Me: Yeah i'm going for my sisters marriage...wait, i mean, my sisters getting wedding.
Ewan: *looks at me like i'm mental*
Me: WAIT. I mean my sister is getting married there *phew*
Its been one of those weeks.

Right so i left off dreaming the sweet post McFly show dreams of a very happy fangirl...
*swirly sleeping montage*
Cut to me waking up at 8am. Ugh. But goddammit i had Anne Franks house to visit. And visit it i did. I walked up the canals to the house (mission of trek like proportions (in reality about 20 minutes)) and there was no line so i went straight in.

Tried to get up early to go visit Anne Franks house. Failed to get up early to visit Anne Franks house.
( I Amsterdam )
I walked back to the hotel via the Paradiso to see the line of teenage girls already formed. They looked slightly too punky to be McFly fans but maybe i'm just out of touch with todays youth i dont know.
It says doors open at 8 for the 9pm show and i have plans to wander down around 7 and hang out in the square before hand. We shall see.
More observations about Amsterdam so far:

More observations about Amsterdam so far:
- Its full of hipsters. Everyone here is cooler than i am and rocking outfits i couldnt even begin to conceive. Its really compounding my school teacher complex.
- Bikes are plotting an uprising to take over the city but no ones realised it yet. But its coming...oh yes, its coming. EVIL.

I'm going to keep a daily (maybe) blog of my trip otherwise i'll a) forget and b) procrastinate for so long i'll never post about it
Woke up at 4.30am and drove to Liverpool Airport. Flew at 7.20am. The flight was only an hour and we landed at 9.30 Netherlands time. In what can only be described as a magical feat i managed to get from Plane to Hotel in 30 minutes. That includes getting through passport control, catching a train to central station, getting a tram clear across the city and then a short walk to find my hotel. 30 minutes! I give myself 10 our of 10 for outstanding navigational skills of a foreign city and its public transport system.
( Amsterdam and its evil bikes )
In conclusion...

My thoughts and observations about Amsterdam so far:
- Its noisy
- Its beautiful (old buildings, canal water ways full of boats etc)
- Every fucker smokes (plumes of smoke and cigrette butts everywhere)
- Its noisy
- There are Bicycles EVERYWHERE. Bikes are my new arch nemesis
- Chance of dying while crossing street = very likely (cars, buses, trams, bikes, scooters, bikes bikes BIKES)
- Its noisy
- There arent as many 'brown' cafes as i'd imagined
- I didnt smell weed all day until some guy walked past me who must have been caning it. He reeked.
- Its multicultural...i sort of generalise the netherlands as being a white wash but i read that 45% of Amsterdams population were not born in Amsterdam and it shows; theres alot of representation which is cool.
- Bikes are evil
- I think everyones american :-)
Over heard conversation of the day:
One scouse tourist to another: 'Wait, we've got to remember this street because its got a Burger King on it!'
(Scouse Tourist = Tourist from Liverpool, UK)

Firstly, apologies for being a dire LJ friend these last few months; its not you, its me. I'm blaming the summer slump but really i've just been lame and lazy. I plan to rectify this as of next week when i'm able to breathe a bit easier.
I got back from visiting my folks late monday night, went straight in to work on tuesday and i've literally only just unpacked my suitcase. Its been glaring at me from my kitchen floor all week. And now i have to re-pack (a much smaller case) because i'm going to Amsterdam tomorrow for two nights.
This is the most unprepared i've ever been for a trip. Other than the 30 minutes i spent booking my flight and hotel a couple of months ago i havent given it any other thought. I managed to acquire some Euros today (the exchange rate makes me want to WEEP btw) and im now going to start frantically googling Amsterdam to see how i'll fill my non-McFly watching time.
In addition to my jet setting shenanigans i am taking a test next week (the academic kind) and i'm basically alternating between paralysing fear and crippling nausea. Regardless of the outcome i probably wont mention it again but i felt the need to put it out there in the cosmos. Make it real.
So thats pretty much it. I hope all are well or hanging in there, at the very least.

Changi airport in Singapore has the most lax security i've ever encountered. I'm already at my gate and my bags have yet to be asked about/screened/searched. I ALWAYS get pulled aside at airports and searched, i must look dodgy or something. I guess they'll screen right before i get on the plane...?
Also, in keeping with the ridiculously trusting theme; i went in to the 7-11 a few minutes ago (i was the only customer) and the only evident staff member looked at me and walked out! Leaving me completely alone and unsupervised in the shop. Were i anything less than a totally upstanding citizen i would have taken my tiny individual Nutella snack packs and i would have run!
Ugh i have that 'just about to fly; sure hope i don't die' feeling in my stomach. Seven and a half to Dubai then 6 and a half to Manchester. Thats alot of scope for engine failure.
*hold me*

I love my laptop. I really do.
Sure its stupid and slow and it hates me. But its also super light and transportable and it allows me to access the internet all over my house and more importantly in the arrivals at terminal 2. If my laptop didnt exist i would be sat here bored, possibly cursing, but instead i am happy and reading fanfic.

I have arrived in Singapore. Finally. I think i left my house sometime last week? i cant remember. 6 and a half hour flight from Manchester to Dubai. 2 hour wait in Dubai. 7 and a half hour flight to Singapore. No sleep. Me = dead.
Watched a lot of films.
Now comes the epic (and utterly stupid) wait for my flight across to Kuching which doesnt depart until 8.45pm. Its 4pm. I have accessed the wireless and i have done some recon to find the plug socket i'm going to sneakily use when my battery starts running low.
My usually mildly cranky nature is currently a lot crankier with just a smidge dash of exhausted thrown in. I HATE FLYING TO ASIA ITS SOOOOOOO FAR AWAY FROM MY HOUSE!
Expect to be spammed. Apologies in advance.

Looks like my sister has the Swine Flu. She's quarantined at home and freaking out because she's flying to Malaysia to visit the folks on Saturday.
Hopefully she will be better by then. I've told her to stay warm, drink lots of fluids (then try not to vomit them up) and most importantly, stay away from me.
The swine flu website is rather informative really. I was impressed from a Public Health POV. Pity so many people are taking advantage of it.
